How does the Mercari lone worker device work?

The Mercari lone worker device is a dedicated safety alarm that sends an emergency alert fast when help is needed. The worker wears the device on-site and, in an incident, presses the SOS button to trigger alerts to nominated contacts (such as a supervisor or control room). The alert will include GPS location so responders can find the worker quickly. The Mercari LWD can also provide two-way voice communication and safety functions like man-down / no-motion or fall detection, which can trigger an automatic alert if the worker is incapacitated. Because it’s a standalone device (not a phone app), it’s designed to be simple to use under stress and reliable in real work conditions.
